What makes a rainbow?

Sunlight is a mixture of colours. When the Sun's ray pass through falling raindrops, the raindrops act like tiny mirrors or glass prisms. They bend and scatter the light into all its colours. We see a rainbow when the Sun is behind us and the rain in front of us. You can make your own rainbow witha water sprinkler or hose on a bright, sunny day.

I just want to share an idea even if this topic is not for high school lesson anymore..
